Yellow-bellied siskin - Spinus xanthogastra
The Yellow-Bellied Siskin is a small finch of 10/12 centimeters. Evident the sexual dimorphism, in the males head, upper part of the chest, back, wings and tail are black, while chest, belly, and codion are yellow and the undertail is whitish. The female, instead, completely lacks black (except for the wings and the tail) and also the yellow is almost absent limiting itself to definite nuances on the chest.
Habitat: hilly and mountainous wooded areas of Central America and the upper part of South America.
Feeding: it feeds mainly on seeds, but also on berries, sprouts and leaflets, also integrating its diet during the period of reproduction with insects and worms.
